How You Can Help

There are many ways you can help make a difference for homeless women:

  • Donate directly to Second Chance
  • Hold a fundraising event on behalf of Second Chance
  • Come to our next event
  • Donate a raffle prize
  • Leave a bequest

Remember. Apart from compulsory insurance and bank charges, every cent goes to the cause, supporting projects to help homeless women. For more information, see our Projects page.

Donate directly to Second Chance

Second Chance Program is grateful for all donations. You can make a donation either online or by post.

Online donations: Go to the Second Chance Program donation page on the Everyday Hero website.

Postal donations: Download the Second Chance Donation slip and post it to PO Box 1598, Eagle Farm QLD 4009.

Donations are tax deductible and all those who donate will receive a receipt for their donation.

Hold a fundraising event

You can raise money for homeless women and, just as importantly, raise awareness in the community, by holding an event. Any member of the committee is available as a guest speaker to talk about homeless women and Second Chance initiatives. Here’s a few examples from some of our great supporters…

Run for a cause: The energetic Margo McLay ran the NY Marathon in November last year, an amazing feat in its own right, but Margo also raised $4350 for Second Chance at the same time. Margo used our Everyday Hero website  to raise money on behalf of Second Chance. Why not become our next Second Chance Everyday Hero?

Hold a lunch with a purpose: One of our supporters is planning a special lunch at a well-known Brisbane restaurant with the aim of raising $10,000 in one event, to go towards one of Second Chance’s 2012 projects.

Other ideas: Having a significant birthday party / event soon? Make Second Chance your charity of choice and ask guests to donate rather than bring a gift. How about holding an afternoon tea with your friends on behalf of Second Chance?

Committee members are always happy to talk through any ideas you may have – so please do contact us at zara.sexton@freehills.com if you would like to discuss an idea further.

“I give and bequeth the sum of $X, free of all expenses and duties to Second Chance Programme Fundraising Group Inc (SCPFG) for the purposes of SCPFG and I declare that the receipt of the Secretary of SCPFG shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my Executors or Trustees and shall absolve them from seeing as to the application of this bequest”.
